PopCrush Exclusive: First look at Heffron Drive’s “Passing Time” lyrics!

We’re counting down until Heffron Drive release their debut album, ‘Happy Mistakes.’ (Seriously, is it Sept. 9 yet?!) While we patiently wait for the full-length project to drop, the band sent us the lyrics to one of the album’s tracks, ‘Passing Time.’
Our first reaction? Wow, there is some serious emotion packed into these words! We can only imagine once the music and vocals have been added in that this will truly be a showstopper. And, really, what better song title could suit our album countdown than ‘Passing Time’?
Check out the lyrics to Heffron Drive’s ‘Passing Time’ below!
you took my heart-shaped hourglass and turned it over, over. the
further that i’m falling back, you bring me closer, closer. cause i
lost my way inside the truth, watching moments slipping through
my hands kept getting emptier each day. you lit the match, shook
me awake. the fire grew, you fanned the flames. it burned until the
walls let in the light, we’re all passing time, looking for the
rush that makes us feel alive. living through the moments,
trapped inside a lie. i need you here tonight. show me there’s
more to life and we’re not passing time.
you took the armor on my chest and tore it open, open. you saw
my heart inside the mess, said it’s not broken, broken. cause i lost
my way inside the truth, watching moments slipping through my
hands kept getting emptier each day. you lit the match, shook me
awake. the fire grew, you fanned the flames. it burned until the
walls let in the light. we’re all passing time, looking for the rush
that makes us feel alive, living through the moments, trapped
inside a lie. i need you here tonight. show me there’s more to
life. and we’re not passing time.

J-14 Exclusive: First look at Heffron Drive’s “Division of the Heart”!

Ever since we heard that Big Time Rush’s Kendall Schmidt was focusing his efforts on Heffron Drive, we’ve been so excited to see what the band has next! While we still have to wait until September 9th before we can listen to their debut album Happy Mistakes, we EXCLUSIVELY have the lyrics to one of their new songs, “Division of the Heart.”

It sounds like a real heartbreaker — we wonder who pushed them to write it. They sound completely broken up about being apart from this particular girl.

Check out the lyrics below, and let us know what you think the song will sound like!

DIVISION OF THE HEART

I can’t sleep without the lights on, it’s like I’m broken when you’re
gone. I’ve been holding on for so long. every second here without
you feels like the division of the heart. I’ve been holding on for so long.
tonight you’re coming home, coming home, coming home to me.
tonight you’re coming home, coming home, coming home to me.
I keep trying to recreate you, but all my visions turn to dust.
cause there ain’t nothing like the real thing. every minute getting closer
feels like a minute lost in time. I swear I can hear you calling.
tonight you’re coming home, coming home, coming home to me.
tonight you’re coming home, coming home, coming home to me.

oooh, oooh, coming home to me.
every second here without you feels like division of the heart,
I’ve been holding on for so long.
tonight you’re coming home, coming home, coming home to me.
tonight you’re coming home, coming home, coming home to me.
tonight you’re coming home, coming home, coming home to me.
tonight you’re coming home, coming home, coming home to me.
coming home to me.

Billboard interviews Kendall on the MTV VMA red carpet!

Teen.com reveals the lyrics to Heffron Drive’s Nicotine!

When word spread that we were interviewing Kendall Schmidt, the @teen Twitter blew up with questions for the 23-year-old singer about Big Time Rush, Heffron Drive, his new album and, probably most excitedly, “Nicotine.”
Dedicated Kendall fans insisted on getting the details on the fifth song from Heffron Drive’s Happy Mistakes album tracklist, so we couldn’t help but oblige. BUT, before we fill you in on all the details about the tune, as well as more exclusive tidbits, here are the lyrics for “Nicotine.” (FYI, since so many people asked, it has nothing to do with cigarettes.)

“Nicotine”
Figuring out it’s habitual
I hear you calling my name at night
Picking you up’s like a ritual
Breathing you in it clears my mind
You often make me feel like I wanna fly
I travel the whole world, but I keep you nearby
Letting you go is impossible, only you can help me to unwind
I’m not giving up for nothing, no
They tell me I’m dead if I don’t leave you alone
Like nicotine
We’ve got nothing but potential now
Try but I can’t put you down on my own
Like nicotine
Drowning myself in your chemicals
Feeling my heart intoxify
Lighting you up was so casual
Now I’m craving you all the time
(You’re so addicting, you’re so addicting)
Addicted to everything you represent
And when I’m feeling strung out, you’re my supplement
Telling myself that I’m functional
But you have a high I can’t deny
(You’re so addicting, you’re so addicting)
I’m not giving up for nothing, no
They tell me I’m dead if I don’t leave you alone
Like nicotine
We’ve got nothing but potential now
Try but I can’t put you down on my own
Like nicotine

Stay tuned for more Kendall Schmidt goodies on Teen.com next week!
